Set up after you install

Untoil Chat DMs are optional. Scanning Drive and Chat is configured by a team manager. After the app is installed from the Google Workspace Marketplace:

1. Sign in to Untoil with the same work email as your Google account.
2. Open Profile → Notifications.
3. Turn on Google Chat if you want Untoil to message you there, then send a test message. You can turn Google Chat notifications off at any time on that page.

If a Super Admin already installed Untoil for your domain, the Chat app is available without an individual install. If not, install Untoil for yourself from the Marketplace listing, then send the test.

Admin configuration

Domain-wide Drive, Chat, and Directory access requires a Google Workspace Super Admin. To configure Untoil for your organization:

1. Open the Untoil Marketplace listing as a Super Admin and choose Admin install for the domain (or specific organizational units).
2. Sign in to Untoil as a team manager.
3. Open Team → Integrations → Google and click Verify. Untoil stores the Workspace domain and Super Admin so it can read Drive, Chat, and Directory.
4. Use Team → Scan to run Drive and Chat scans. Directory syncs into team departments from the same Google connection.

Disconnecting Google on Team → Integrations removes Untoil’s stored install. To fully revoke access, remove Untoil in Google Admin as well.

Set up Microsoft Teams notifications

Untoil Teams chat DMs are optional. Scanning OneDrive and Teams channels is configured by a team manager. After the app is available from the Untoil Teams app:

1. Sign in to Untoil with the same work email as your Microsoft account.
2. Open Profile → Notifications.
3. Turn on Microsoft Teams if you want Untoil to message you there, then send a test message. You can turn Microsoft Teams notifications off at any time on that page.

If a Teams admin already installed Untoil for your organization, the app is available without an individual install. If not, add Untoil for yourself from the Teams app list, then send the test.

Until Untoil is in the Microsoft Teams store, the add-app link only works when Teams is signed into the Untoil publisher tenant (untoil.onmicrosoft.com). If Teams says the app cannot be found, switch to that tenant, or ask a Teams admin to upload Untoil for your organization: Apps → Manage your apps → Upload an app → Upload a custom app.

Microsoft 365 admin configuration

Org-wide Files, Teams channel scan, and Directory access requires an Entra admin. Teams chat notifications use a separate Untoil Teams app (a notification-only bot), not Graph chat-read permissions.

1. Sign in to Untoil as a team manager. Open Team → Integrations → Microsoft and click Connect. An Entra admin consents the tenant app so Untoil can read Files, Teams channels, and Directory.
2. Allow or pin the Untoil Teams app in Teams Admin Center (or sideload the package while the store listing is in review) so people can receive chat notifications.
3. Use Team → Scan to run Files and Teams channel scans. Directory syncs into team departments from the same Microsoft connection.

Disconnecting Microsoft on Team → Integrations removes Untoil’s stored tenant install. To fully revoke access, remove the Enterprise app in Entra and the Untoil app in Teams Admin Center.
